Man shocked to find out his oven door is actually removable after '40 years of refusing to clean' it

A TikToker who tests hacks and posts the results online has gone viral after realising oven doors can be removed for easy cleaning.

Dustin Hadley, who goes by the handle @that40yearguy, filmed himself trying to remove his oven door after watching another TikTok from appliance repair technician Jesse Chavez.

"You're telling me for 40 years of refusing to clean my oven because I didn't want to lay across ?the door it was that easy to just take it off? Ain't no way," he said in the video.

Hadley then tries removing the door from his oven by unclipping the locks that attach the door to the bottom of the appliance.

?The oven door comes off easily leaving Hadley basically speechless except for a stunned wheeze laugh.

"My oven is going to be sparkling," he captioned the clip.

Almost 28 million people have watched Hadley remove his oven door, with many viewers also surprised to find out oven doors can be removed.

"OMG it worked on our oven too!" one posted.

"Why didn't I know this last week when I was cleaning my oven STRUGGLING," a viewer commented.

"Totally had to try it, didn't know this either and OMG it works life saver?," another said.

However, there were plenty of people who had already tried it but it didn't end well.

"I tried this one year ago and got a pretty nice scar in my thumb, something happened with a spring, be careful," wrote one.

"?Now try getting it back on, it's a nightmare," a TikToker said.

"Alright now put it back on. I could not get it back on. When I thought I had it back on it fell and the glass shattered," posted a viewer.

There were others who had a different type of oven that doesn't have the same clips at the bottom of the door.

This is why it's so important to read your appliance manual before trying to remove any part, as it might no be advisable for your machine or done the same way as you see on social media.

And if you don't feel comfortable or confident removing your oven door, you can still clean it with the door on.

But if you really need to remove the door for cleaning or to clean between the glass panels on the door and you're worried about causing damage, it's best to call the professionals? first before a bigger problem later.
