Next pour white vinegar into the container until it fills the jar and covers the pine needles.

"Close it up and let it soak like that for about three weeks. After three weeks the vinegar is going to get this nice golden colour," Adamjan said in the video.

Once the cleaning solution has had a good soak?, pour it through a strainer to separate the pine needles from the liquid. Then pour into a plastic spray bottle and you're good to go.

"Pine needles are packed with antibacterial properties and in combination with the vinegar? makes a super awesome disinfectant," Adamjan explained.

But if you want to use this in your post-Christmas, pre-New Years cleaning you'll need to start now because? there's only a few weeks to go until Christmas. That'll give you enough time for it to soak before you need it.

While the clip is certainly getting a huge number of views, the reactions in the comments section were mixed.

A lot of viewers said the cleaning spray was just another version of Pine-Sol, a disinfectant on sale in the US. While it may be that, this is one you can make yourself quite cheaply if you already have the tree.

Others wanted to point out that not every Christmas tree can be used to make this spray, as pine trees are most well known for having antibacterial properties.

There were also plenty of comments joking about whether an artificial Christmas tree could be used, which of course won't work.

But if you do have a pine Christmas tree this year, why not give it a go? It could be a fun project that leaves you with a useful DIY to try in the new year.
