The coffee table in question was a "gorgeous" trunk-style table so it had plenty of storage room inside, however, the top of the table was a mess.

"Here was the problem with ?this one bulky piece of furniture in my house, it constantly attracted surface clutter," she said.

"If you have a coffee table you can probably relate; there's cups on it and magazines dropped on it and mail and toys and if you have dogs [there's] dog hair, dust.?

"I cleaned it จC not even joking จC two, three, four, ?five times a day and yet I would turn away, turn back around and it was messy again. It was driving me crazy because aesthetically it did not look good, it required a lot of maintenance."

Having had enough of the clutter magnet coffee table, Margo gave it to a neighbour who loved it?, which made both of them happy.

In addition to stopping clutter piling up, removing the coffee table also makes Margo's living room look and feel larger?.

The coffee table clutter magnet problem was relatable for many who watched the video.

"?Got rid of my coffee table and my hutch and everything that was in it. Don't miss at all!!" a woman said.

"?This is what my kitchen table is becoming....I just want to stop the habit of dropping everything on it ... ugh so hard to break the habit," another wrote.

"Agree. For me it was my beautiful dinning room table that we NEVER used. I turned that room into a comfy sitting room and the whole house loves it," one commented.

There were plenty who don't have a coffee table and get by with side tables.

"?Interesting thought, I don't mind getting rid of my table as long as i have my sides," a woman said.

"I have a little tray I put on my couch so I can have a safe spot to put my drinks also good for remotes," one commented.

"?I also don't own a coffee table, I have one little side table next to the sofa to put my glass of water on," another wrote.

Others, however, love having a coffee table and haven't noticed? it becoming a clutter magnet.

Margo's experience is a reminder that the best way to deal with clutter dumping spots is to find what works best for your space and the people who live in it.

For some that's getting rid of the coffee table, ?for others it's ditching the dining table instead or simply adding a baskets on the kitchen bench for mail and parcels.
