Gardening guru reveals how to get an unlimited supply of herbs with simple hack

By 9Honey Living|

Herbs make for a fresh addition to any homemade meal, but they can be expensive to add on to each week's grocery list.

If you've ever forked out on the little potted varieties from the supermarket, only to use them up completely before they've grown more sprigs, you're not alone.

Thankfully gardening guru @joesgarden has shared a simple hack that means you'll only ever have to buy a herb once.

Joe took to Instagram and TikTok to reveal how you can get an unlimited supply of herbs.

"Getting an unlimited supply of supermarket herbs is super easy ??," the green thumb captioned the video.

"This will work with quite a few types of herbs including basil and rosemary."

Joe explained how easy it is to propagate these popular herbs, meaning you'll be able to keep growing an endless supply. He provided step-by-step instructions in the simple video too.

All you need to start with is a single stem of the herb you want to grow.

"Take a cutting like this one and pour some water into a little container," Joe said in the video.

"Remove the bottom leaves and pop the stem into the water.

"After a week it will start to root, just pot it up and you'll have an unlimited supply of herbs."

The gardening hack has become so popular that it's racked up OVER 2.5 million views on TikTok, and users loved how simple it is.

"We do this, it's such a money saver," one user commented.

"How did I NEVER think about that," another wrote.

While it is a really great idea, other TikTokers issued a warning in the comments about what can happen.

"Just don't plant them... Buggers take over the whole garden if you're not careful," commented one TikToker.

Joe couldn't agree with the comment any more.

"100 per cent learnt that the hard way when I was a kid ??" he replied.

Joe has made a name for himself as a 'green influencer', with almost a million followers on TikTok and 72.6k on Instagram.

He shares tips and tricks for the garden and advice on how to grow your favourite fruits, roots and vege.
