The cost-effective towel drying hack you need to know about

If you're looking for a simple, fast and cost-effective way to dry your wet towels, this hack could be for you.

Rather than loading them into your dryer, which can take too long and drive up your electricity bill, one person has shared their unique drying method, and it's something we've never thought of before.

And you'll never guess what it involves: a good old curtain rail. ?

Now, this hack can be for those living in either a house, townhouse or unit, but would particularly handy for those living in smaller spaces, particularly if they don't have a clothes line.

?A person shared their hack on Facebook, per The Sun, where they use a clipped trouser hanger to hang the wet towel, and attach it to their curtain rail so the breeze or warmer weather from the open window will dry the item.

You can also just hang the wet towel over the curtain rail.?

It comes after it was revealed there is a maximum length of time you can leave wet washing in the machine for.?

Madame Sweat, or Mary Futher, revealed in a TikTok video that wet washing can be left in there for 12 hours, but any longer and you need to re-wash it.

"The rule of thumb generally is if you left them sitting wet for more than 12 hours that's the cut-off point," she said.

"You need to re-wash and use a half a cup of baking soda with your detergent to get rid of the mould and mildew."

Meanwhile, if you're in the market for some chic new towels, but don't want to splash the cash, Kmart have a designer dupe that might be perfect for you.
