Meghan Trainor has revealed new details about her son Riley's 'scary' birth.

The All About that Bass singer, who along with husband?Daryl Sabara welcomed their first child in February, said it had been a shaky start.

Speaking with TODAY Parents, she explained how she had undergone a C-section, but Riley was born breech and silent.?

"It was one of those horror stories where he didn't cry," she told TODAY. "He didn't make noise when he came out. I was like, 'Why isn't he crying?' Then they told me he was having breathing issues. It was terrifying."

The bub was then rushed to the NICU where he was put on a feeding tube. Thankfully there were no serious complications and the couple were able to bring him home just days later.?

"I got to see him for one second before they took him away. That was probably the worst part.?It was definitely a rough start. But we're so lucky we got to bring him home after five days," she continued.?

In a video montage of her first three months with Riley posted to Instagram, Trainor also revealed new photos of her and Sabara?bonding with the bub in the NICU, including enjoying some skin to skin time.?

"We had a rocky start ... but Riley is perfect, happy and healthy. So lucky to be your mama sweet boy," she captioned the clip.

Trainor has also described becoming a mum as the 'greatest gift in the world', in a Mother's Day tribute post to her 'sweet boy'.?

The singer, who?was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during her pregnancy, has previously spoken about how she and Sabara had wanted to start their family since marrying in 2018.

"We're so excited we couldn't sleep," she told the Today Show last year. "We've been waiting for so long. I was thinking about who do we tell first and I've told Hoda since I was 19, going to the?Today?show, 'I will have the most babies in the world.' "??
