Sadie Robertson has opened up about the traumatic birth of her daughter, Honey, two months after welcoming her first child.
The Duck Dynasty star, 24, shared details of the difficult delivery for her podcast WHOA That's Good.?
"All of a sudden, I was pushed down on the bed and they pushed my mum out of the way, and every nurse in the room was just over me and they're pulling my legs and pushing my stomach as hard as they could and honestly I didn't know what happened," she revealed.
"I thought they ... cut me open ... because of how painful it was when they pressed on my stomach. I now know they were pressing my pelvic bone to get her out because what happened was Honey got stuck."
Elaborating to explain that Honey's shoulder had become stuck in her birth canal - something?nursing staff told her only happened in around one per cent of vaginal births.
A very dangerous situation for babies, her medical team made the difficult decision to try and break Honey's shoulder in order to deliver her.?
"Time just stood still ... The shoulder was clamping the umbilical cord, causing her not to get air," she said. "Every second counts, and they couldn't get her out for two minutes and 10 seconds," she said.
Robertson said she was largely unaware of how tense the situation was at the time, but was quickly alerted to the seriousness when her baby girl, who weighed in at 4.3kg, was born not breathing.?
"Her face was purple and her body was white. It was very scary," she said.?
Thankfully she soon let out a scream and after a small amount of oxygen, was able to breath unassisted. Miraculously, she also escaped a broken shoulder despite the ordeal.?
"They had three doctors check her shoulder because they were in disbelief it didn't break," Robertson said.
The reality star, who shares Honey with husband?Christian Huff, announced her daughter's birth on Instagram in May, captioning a photo of the new family of three: "We saw a million little miracles yesterday - the best one being this girl right here... Honey.
