Allana Ferguson says telling her daughter she was pregnant 'didn't go as planned'

By Nikolina Koevska Kharoufeh |

Nine's Sunday Footy Show panelist and NRL commentator Allana Ferguson and husband Guy McDermott are absolutely thrilled to announce they are expecting their second child.

In the excitement of finding out she was pregnant again, Allana revealed to 9Honey Parenting that she couldn't keep the news from her two-year-old girl Parker for very long.

And, while she planned to tell the soon-to-be big sister in a very sweet way, the conversation with her daughter didn't quite go to plan.

"I get violently ill during pregnancy, so poor Parker witnessed me filling up the bathtub", she said.

After catching her mum in the bathroom a few times, Ferguson and her husband decided that it was time to explain to Parker why her mum was so sick.

Once they did, Parker then went through a period of impersonating her mum's brutal pregnancy symptoms.

"She ended up walking around the house doing fake vomit noises saying 'Blehhhh I'm having a baby. I'm mummy.'", which Ferguson found mortifying.

The cheeky toddler has luckily moved on from that and is now eagerly anticipating her new sibling.

"She is so excited. She sings to my belly and holds it", she revealed.

Ferguson has been trying to involve Parker in her pregnancy journey as much as possible, showing her ultrasound scans and videos of appointments.

"She fully understands it and is so excited. She yells at strangers on the bike track 'My mummy is having a baby!'", she told 9Honey Parenting.

Ferguson and her husband welcomed Parker into the world in 2019.
