A professional baby names consultant has revealed the unexpected trend we're likely to see throughout 2023: dark and moody? baby names.
Thanks to the success of the Netflix series ?Wednesday, names with a darker edge are gaining in popularity.
The consultant and mum-of-three, Steph Coffield fromn the US, explained on TikTok why these names have always held some sway, they'll be far more mainstream this year.
"Anything mystical and mythological has always been popular but we're going to see even darker names like Argo, Draco, Knight, Raven, Salem, Zephyr, and Zelda," she predicts.
Her followers were all for this, many sharing they too had looked to the theme when naming their own children.
"Funny you said dark and moody! Currently pregnant (and) if it's a girl she will be Salem," said one.
While another added: "I had my daughter Salem Gray in October! Everyone loves her name! I love it too."

A? mythologically inspired name on Steph's list, Argo is set to be big this year.
The name, which has origins in Greek mythology, was the name of a ship built by the gods that the leader of the Argonauts, Jason, is said to have sailed on to retrieve the Golden Fleece.
