Britt turned up for work just hours after delivering baby she didn't know she was pregnant with

Everyone's birth experiences are different in some way. Some women may have a caesarean, while others may opt for no pain relief - some women may not even know they're pregnant until they go into labour.

This was the frightening experience for one woman who said she was not aware she was carrying a 7.5 month old baby until she randomly went into labour after work. Britt, 23, took to TikTok to recount her harrowing birth experience.

"POV: You admit yourself into the ER for stomach pain after work and get told that you're in labor after 7.5 months of not knowing," Britt said in the caption of her TikTok that has now been viewed over 2.8 million times.

The new-mum shared a number of pictures in the video showing there was no visible baby bump - even on the day she gave birth. Britt said she had no reason to suspect she was pregnant as her periods had always been irregular and she had consistently stayed between 110-115 pounds even throughout the pregnancy.

Britt said she didn't tell her manager about the birth, discharged herself from the hospital and went to work the next day. She says her actions were due to shock over the whole ordeal.

"My daughter was born a little bit before 2 a.m.," she explained in the video. "I was discharged a little bit before 6 a.m. And my shift started at 10:30 or 11."

Britt said after this however, she took some time to adjust to what had happened.

"I gave my manager a note that was like, I'm not going to be here for my next few shifts and I just stopped going to work because I have more important stuff going on," she said. "The words 'I had a baby' could not come out of my mouth, it was a movie scene to me."

In another video, the new-mum addressed comments of people asking how she still went to work the next day.?

"Shock and trauma are real, it's very very real."

Britt said that she may have missed other indicators but things like the death of her dog and seasonal depression made her feel out of touch with her body.

Viewers were immensely sympathetic towards the new-mum.

"I wish more people would realise that there's no one way to experience pregnancy. like you said there's a lot of things to factor in," a viewer wrote.
