A brave animal lover has shared footage of the nail-biting moment she saved a tiny kitten sitting on the edge of a busy overpass.

TikTok user Nicole Toney was driving along a bridge in Bridge City, Texas when she noticed something strange out of the corner of her eye.

She slowly cruised by before realising it was an abandoned kitten dangerously perched on the side of the bridge.

Nicole continued driving and made a quick U-turn, before springing into action.

The incredible footage, filmed in November 2021, shows Nicole stop her car on the side of the road before carefully approaching the tiny feline.

Over a tense few moments, Nicole slowly clasped her hands around the cat and brought it safely back into her car.

"When I say I was so scared I almost pukedกญ." she captioned the clip, which has since attracted over 13 million views.

Nicole said she was worried the cat might jump off the side of the bridge to its certain death.

"She was sitting right on the ledge, and I was really scared she was going to jump off," she explained.

"I couldn't live with myself if I just left her there. I could just imagine her jumping off the bridge. That would have been terrible.

"I had to get really close to the edge, because I wanted to put my arm around the back side of her in case she backed up or jumped. And then, I just grabbed her neck, so that I could immobilise her and grab her."

Nicole brought the little tabby back home and has since adopted it, adding it to her already-impressive menagerie of pets กช including five dogs.

Naming the rescue kitten 'Ducky', Nicole then provided an update on the lucky feline for TikTok fans.

"I'm not really sure how she got there, I think she was dumped because a lot of people dump their animals on that bridge," she explained.

"There were no injuries on her, she was totally fine."

Amazed followers took to the comment section to praise Nicole for her good deed and said she was "meant" to find Ducky.

"You looped around and she was still thereกญso meant to be! You are a hero!" one person wrote.

"I'm a vet nurse & seeing people show this kindness to animals just warms my heart. Thank you so much," another said.
