Daisy is the daughter of Atalanta and Philip Knatchbull, and the granddaugter of Patricia, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, and John, 7th Baron Brabourne.

Philip Katchbull's grandfather on his mother's side was Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, who was the beloved uncle of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and a father figure of King Charles prior to his assassination at the hands of the IRA in 1979.

The bomb blast also claimed the life of Philip's younger brother, Nicholas.

It paved the way for Daisy's uncle Norton to become 3rd Earl Mountbatten of Burma until his death in 2017.

The ?Katchbulls have remained close to the royal family and have figured prominently in many royal events over the years.

When Norton Katchbull's daughter Alexandra got married in 2016, it was King Charles who walked her down the aisle.
