Royal watchers sent into frenzy over Kate's 'iconic' entrance at engagement
The Princess of Wales has sent royal fans into a frenzy after her "iconic" arrival at an event at Windsor Castle.
Katherine drove herself to the castle to meet with the Red Roses England women's rugby team - stepping out of her car in a glitzy red suit and four-inch heels.
A man can be seen standing waiting, holding an umbrella as she arrives.
She steps out of the car before taking the umbrella off him, using it to shield her perfectly-curled hair, as well as the man.
Video of her arrival has gone viral online, sparking discussion about the "iconic" move.
"The Princess of Wales drove herself to Windsor Castle this afternoon to host a reception for the England Women's rugby team - in an Alexander McQueen suit and stilettos. Iconic," the caption read. ?
Royals don't usually drive themselves?; however, the castle is close to her ?Forest Lodge home, so it seems the princess didn't mind.
Royal watchers also admired her independence.
"So amazing she doesn't require people to drive her and can easily do it herself," one said.
Another wrote: "Driving in stilettos - respect right there!"
Kate, who is a patron of the Rugby Football Union, hosted a reception for the national team to celebrate their World Cup win in September last year.
?It marked the first win for the team since 2014.
Inside the royal engagement, the Princess shook hands with the rugby team? and shared funny, candid confession about her eldest, George, saying she often avoids him when playing the sport at home.
"Obviously, as they get physically stronger - George now, if we play [rugby] at home, I do not want to get tackled by George - but, up to a certain age, I think it's great," she joked.
She also hailed the team's win, saying they were inspiring a "new generation" of rugby players ?who "might not even have thought rugby was for them."
"I think it really showed how accessible rugby is to so many types of girls, in different parts of the country."
