Stars share: 'What my ultimate day in the Christmas holidays looks like'

The Christmas holidays are, for many, a much-anticipated time of the year.
We asked TV personalities and writers to describe their ideal day over the break, and, unsurprisingly, there are a few commonalities...

"My ideal day on the holidays would definitely involve some sort of sleep in and swimming and topped off with some day drinking. Going to the beach or going to a pool. I've actually just started introducing my dogs to pet-friendly beaches and I love seeing them running free and face planting into the sand. And nothing says holidays like day drinking! "

"After a childhood of summer holidays at the beach, I now prefer a ski holiday in the northern hemisphere in December/January.
"One of my absolute favourite feelings is standing at the top of a mountain in sub zero temperatures, breathing in the crisp fresh air and then launching myself down a long, wide groomed trail. Heaven!"

"I absolutely love Christmas Eve. Everyone is finally off work, families are coming together and there's a real sense of anticipation for all that's in store. Christmas Eve has always been tradition filled in my house.
"We visit Father Christmas in the morning, and during the day we take in a matinจฆe performance of a Christmas themed show จC my son was mortified by the family participation at the panto last year.
"After the show we have a late lunch and depending on whether we're in London or New York we'll walk along Regent Street or Fifth Avenue to see the Christmas lights and festive shop windows.
"To wrap up the day we go to carols by candlelight which offers a chance for a little peaceful reflection on the year that's passed and the one that's soon to come."
