'My boyfriend broke up with me because he didn't like my kids'

I was absolutely smitten with my boyfriend Thomas and felt really grateful to have such a caring guy in my life. He really showed me that he cared about me in so many ways, he was great at looking after me, helping around the house and always there when I needed him.
Iกฏm a single mum with two kids and Tom never gave me any doubt that my kids would be some kind of obstacle in our relationship. When we first started dating, I made it clear that my kids would always be my priority and he accepted that. It was after we had been together for about four months when the cracks started to appear.
My son and daughter fight a lot จC not just bickering but full on noisy fights that often get physical. Name calling, hitting, kicking and lots of time out and punishment.?
I love my kids so much, but they can be a handful and they werenกฏt like that when I was with my husband. He left me for a woman he met through work and left me and the kids feeling so upset and traumatised.?
It was about 18 months later that I met Thomas and I felt like everything had fallen into place. Iกฏm a fatalist, always think that things happen when theyกฏre meant to happen and for the right reason. So I thought, กฎSo thatกฏs why the universe put me through all this จC just so I could meet Thomas!กฏ
Things were going fine between us for a while, he stayed over at our place every weekend and, during the week heกฏd come over on a Wednesday or Thursday after work.? But, the truth is, the kids acted up badly whenever he was around. It was almost like they were trying to sabotage my relationship.?
At 13 and 15, youกฏd have thought the kids would be over the stage of having tantrums and being so difficult, but Iกฏd been warned that the teenage years are not exactly easy จC this has proved particularly true when it comes to my daughter.
One night Tom joined us for dinner and the kids started arguing about the iPad which they share. I told them to stop and Tom asked them to stop, but they just kept going.? It ended when my daughter threw a glass of milk over my sonกฏs head and some of it went on Tom too จC he just lost it.
He yelled at them, told them they were horrible children, that he canกฏt stand them, doesnกฏt want anything to do with them and he stormed out of the house. I went after him but he drove off.?
When he eventually called me, a day later, he broke up with me.?I didnกฏt think he was serious, but he said, กฐI just canกฏt stand your nasty children and I canกฏt see a life with you.กฑ?
There was nothing I could say to convince him. I think it was also a case of a man in his early 40s who doesnกฏt have kids and never had a serious relationship before. It was all too much for him.?
I guess he never really loved me at all.?
