When is it OK to leave a note for your neighbour to avoid conflict?
H?aving good neighbours is one of the most underrated blessings in life, because we all know how easily bad ones can ruin your day.
Sometimes, to avoid any kind of neighbourly conflict, we feel it easier to address our issues with a note left in the mailbox rather than face to face.
But where do we draw the line of what is fine to leave in a letter before it becomes something you have to knock for?

Well, one Reddit user is asking that? exact question after finding themselves on the verge of a quarrel.
"Last night I found out that my neighbors two floors down from me can hear my bed making noise at night," they wrote on the social media platform.
"I was previously unaware and I feel so bad. I don't know the people who live in that unit, but I want them to know I'm aware of their concerns and trying to fix it. Do you think this note is ok to leave?"
They included an image of the note which began with an enthusiastic, "hi hi!"

?In the letter, the explained that they don't intent on making a habit out of leaving notes, but wanted to address the fact that they were now aware the sound of the bed had become bothersome.
"I've moved my bed away from the wall & ordered a large mat for soundproofing. The mat comes on Tuesday," the reddit user wrote.
"Just thought I'd let you know that I'm working on it," they finished, adding a smiley face and signing things off with their apartment number.
?The comments section was full of questions from other users attempting to fill in the gaps in the story.

How was a neighbour two floors down hearing noises? How did the person who posted the note find out it was bothering them? How did the neighbour even know it was them?
But, aside from the many answers needed to understand the full picture, most commenters were very supportive of the decision to leave a letter.
"?That's polite and respectful. Well done," wrote one Reddit user in the comments, while another echoed, "This is so sweet, 100% leave it!"
