Hope has always emphasised the importance of family to her life, so for her, this hospitalisation was very difficult.

"There is no harder thing to deal with or process or witness than watching your kid be sick if you're completely helpless. It's the worst feeling in the world," she said.

Ahi is still recovering at home and according to Hope, he is doing okay. However, he is still suffering from some symptoms.

According to NSW Health, RSV is very common and almost all children will have had it by the time they turn three.

While it is generally quite mild and consists mostly of cold-like symptoms such as a runny nose, cough, sneezing, and a fever; its symptoms can be more severe in babies under 6 months old. It is generally spread through coughing and sneezing or by touching contaminated surfaces.
