By Jo Abi|

A body positive influencer has hit back at a social media follower who claimed her choice of work attire was "not appropriate."

Gabbi (@heregoesgabbi from Nevada in the US has shared a video on TikTok, responding to a comment regarding her outfit, which read: "Not appropriate for work."

The outfit is a beige sleeveless top matched with an ankle-length ruched orange skirt, flat sandals and gold necklaces.?

The vibrant skirt includes a slit on the side.

The text overlay features a screenshot of the full outfit, with Gabbi striking various poses before she asks: "So is it my belly or my butt that makes this skirt inappropriate? Because... I don't get it. Wearing skintight clothes doesn't make me less professional."

She seems to suggest the critic's real issue may be with her size and choice of figure-hugging clothing, although it seems many of her TikTok followers agree with the critic.

"Cute but probably too form fitting in the back for work," one commented.

"It's honestly really cute but I have to agree - too thin and too sexy for a work look. Cute for a brunch or a date," added another.

One person said the "see-through effect" was "maybe not appropriate for work."

"You look fantastic in it, but it does seem a little work inappropriate. It's perfect for a date night though!?" another said.

Following even more comments regarding the fit of her clothing, Gabbi responded: "So a skin tight black pencil skirt, like we've all been trained to wear, is fine but this is too much? I disagree."

"Hi, I find the skirt gorgeous on you in some work environments it could be considered inappropriate this is not because of body size it just?," one person says.

Another suggested it may be the colour that is the issue, writing, "You look awesome. it may be the color? it's unusual for an office. But I like."

"Get it if you have to ask. Of course it's not appropriate for work. Everything about it is wrong for work," another says, to which Gabbi responds: "?I fundamentally disagree. You seem to have an outdated since of what professionalism is."
