TikToker shocked by the results of a viral baking paper cleaning hack for cloudy shower glass

It's unlikely you'd ever find baking paper in the bathroom, but thanks to a viral cleaning hack the kitchen product has now become a cleaning tool for the shower.

The hack suggests that scrunched up baking paper gets rid of hard water stains when it's rubbed over tap fixtures.

TikToker Riya wanted to find out whether the cleaning trick actually worked, so she put it to the test and shared the results on her channel @ri1ya.

"If th?is works it is going to make my weekend," she said in the clip.

Riya then took a ball of baking paper and started scrubbing her bathroom tap and shower glass with it.

In the before footage the tap is covered with water stains, while the shower glass is cloudy from soap scum and limescale.

But as Riya starts rubbing the baking paper you can see the tap get shiny and the shower glass become clear again.?

"[It] actually works. Oh my God my life is complete, I am complete," she said.

Though while it does appear to work, people who watched the video wondered if it was worth using baking paper for this when other things work just as well.

"?Vinegar works well too and no hard scrubbing involved," one said.

"Just use a microfibre cloth and no waste," a viewer commented.

"Glass cleaner works pretty well, or Pink Stuff," posted one.

"Wd40 on the glass works wonders," suggested a viewer.

"Clean glass with newspapers instead of a cloth?," another said.

Finding something that gets cloudy shower glass screens clear and sparkling again seems to be one of the great cleaning conundrums people are desperate to solve.

The problem has resulted in all sorts of cleaning hacks being shared online, from shaving cream, to dishwashing detergent? and even dishwasher rinse aid.

?There are also things you can do to prevent your shower glass, and tap fixtures from getting that stained.

When it comes to the shower, squeegeeing excess water off after using the shower will help prevent hardwater stains and soap scum from building up.

If you really want to avoid the problem, you can go one step further and dry the shower with a towel after using it too.

As for the taps, ?giving them a polish with a microfibre cloth will help prevent stains. It's good to do this after cleaning them to dry off any water that could leave a stain when it's dry.
