A $10 hack transforms your paper towel holder into your home's most versatile storage unit

P?aper towel holders might seem like very simple item that really only serves one purpose, but with just a few tweaks it can become surprisingly versatile.
Professional organiser Anita Birges revealed the DIY organisation hack, which turns paper towel holders into a hanging storage unit, in an Instagram reel.
"This is the best DIY Organising Hack that I have seen in ages! And it will cost you less than $10? All you need is a basic Paper Towel Stand and an adhesive hook," she captioned the post.

To make turn your paper towel holder into a hanging organiser that can hold things like hats and headbands, you'll need to bend the centre part of the paper towel stand so it's at "a very slight angle".
Next, follow the instructions on your adhesive hook packaging to attach that to the wall.?
Then all you need to do is simply slip the base of the paper towel holder over the hook and you've got your own hanging organiser.

?Birges said the storage hack can hold shopping bags and clothes hangers in addition to hair accessories, but she can think of about 50 more things she could put on it.
The storage hack was a hit with her Instagram followers, including some who were about to donate or toss out old paper towel holders.
"?That's one of the most practical tips I've seen! Especially for caps," one said.
"?Oh yes. I will use it in my wardrobe for all my headbands," a woman commented.
"?Clever idea. I've got one sitting there not being used for anything. I'm gonna stick it on the wall, too," posted a follower.
"?And to think I had my old paper towel holder in the donate box!" another said.

Paper towel holders can be purchased from many stores, including Kmart where they cost just $4.
Adhesive hooks can also be found at supermarkets, department stores and hardware stores at a range of prices, but you should be able to find a pack for this hack for around $5.
