Fashion designer Matilda Djerf has detailed her experience with an ectopic pregnancy to her three million fans.

An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a pregnancy develops outside of the uterus, usually in one of the fallopian tubes, which can be life-threatening.

In her post, Djerf explained that she initially passed the pain off as menstrual cramps before being urged to go to the emergency room and being told she needed surgery.

As it was during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Djerf had to undergo her first surgery by herself with no visitors allowed, which left her: "lonely, confused, scared and vulnerable."

The Djerf Avenue founder had a fallopian tube removed and said since the procedure she "lost" her "spark".

Over four years, the model has focused on letting her body and scars heal to concentrate on a full recovery.
