Twin dad Lachy Wiggle on what 'scares' him about fatherhood

He may be nailing the entertainment side, though Lachy the Purple Wiggle does admit there are many stages of parenting he doesn't quite feel ready for.

"?I try not to think about it too much because I actually don't want them to grow up too fast," Lachy, who shares twin daughters Lottie and Lulu with Australian ballet dancer Dana Stephensen, tells 9Honey Parenting.

Also step-dad to ?Jasper who is about to turn eight, the superstar Wiggle says there are a few things that do make him nervous as a dad.

"It feels like it's a long way off but also feels like it's moving very quickly," he reveals.

With his twins set to turn three ?in just a few weeks, the dad does find himself sometimes thinking about what lies ahead as they grow up.

"What does scare me when you do think ahead is going through primary school and naturally what comes with that. Social media and stuff!"

Though he also says he doesn't allow himself to think too far ahead because his girls are at pretty special age at the moment.

The most ridiculous things toddlers throw tantrums over

"They're beautiful. They've just started playing together, which is just the most beautiful thing to watch as a parent. And they are very, very different the two of them," he shares.

Lachy tells 9Honey Parenting that one of the interesting aspects of raising twins is having to teach them things in a more tailored way.

"It's fascinating and a challenge sometimes. You have to take a different approach with each of them and I ?love that," he says. "We are very fortunate."

The Purple Wiggle, who is currently on tour in New Zealand, ?also admits that travelling so frequently and being away from the girls is a challenge in itself.

"Just even seeing them on FaceTime I notice the differences in their faces and their expressions. It just changes so quickly."

Luckily the crew have a two week break just before they head off on the Ready, Steady, Wiggle! USA & Canada Tour, to enjoy Father's Day at home with the kids.

?"I am used to it now, but when we are home we just try to make the most of the time with the kids."

And Christmas will also e spent back in the country, as they embark on the Australian WIGGLY BIG DAY OUT! Tour from Saturday 4th November.

"There is nothing like doing shows at home, particularly at this end of the year because you can just feel the families really wanting to see Santa and hear those classic Christmas songs."

"It's like the year is winding up and everyone's getting ready for a really well-earned break."

And while Lottie and Lulu are very much at the stage of 'Wiggle obsession', it's not quite dad that captivates their attention.

"They've caught onto the OG Wiggles! ?They love to watch them and I really love that."
