Most popular baby names in Queensland in 2022 revealed

One unexpected moniker has topped Queensland's list of most popular baby names for girls in 2022.
Amelia won over Charlotte and Isla as the most popular baby girl name in the Sunshine state, a surprise twist considering the popularity of other names in the last few years.
Queensland's Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman said in a statement that she finds it "fascinating to see the various names which have changed in popularity" over the last few years.

"Charlotte, Isla and Olivia continue to see popularity in the top four for names for girls, having not budged for much of the last decade," she said in a media statement.
The boys names are slightly more predictable, with Oliver now holding the top spot for the tenth year in a row, kicking out the previous contender, Jack. ?
"Boys names have been remarkably stable in recent years," she said, sharing that there has only been one new entry for boy's names in the Top 10 this year, with Luca going from 18th to 10th place, causing Elijah to fall to 12th.
