'You're having a baby in 15 minutes': Woman discovers she's pregnant 48 hours before giving birth

A? young teacher has welcomed her first child after discovering she was pregnant just 48 hours before his birth.

Peyton Stover, 23, from Nebraska in the US, had no inkling she could be expecting, and though she had been feeling fatigued, she put this down to the stress of her first year of teaching.

"I'm a first-year teacher and I thought it was normal to just be tired all the time," she told local news network KETV.?

However,? when her legs began to swell, a trip to the doctors at her mum's insistence revealed a shock discovery: not only was she pregnant, she was in her third trimester.

"They ran the test and they were like 'It's definitely positive,." Stover said.

The situation turned from surprise to shock, when Stover was rushed to hospital with kidney and liver issues, where she was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia.

"They're like 'You're having a baby in 15 minutes'," Stover said. "I had severely high blood pressure which is very scary."

"If I wouldn't have come in when I did, I probably wouldn't have made it through the weekend."

After undergoing an emergency C-section, she and boyfriend Travis ?Koesters welcomed their son Kash. Although 10 weeks early, he weighed in at 1.8kg and is reported to be doing well in the NICU.

Although a shock, Travis said they are adjusting well to being a family of three.

"Now that I've actually held him, fed him and things like that, it's real. He's actually mine," he said.
