The Duke of Sussex? had a brief reunion with the monarch at Clarence House on Tuesday before the the King and Queen Camilla took off for Sandringham.

The swift departure comes despite talks of a possible "second meeting" between the father and son, who have a fractured relationship after a very public rift.

While Harry had a quick catch up with his dad - which lasted less than an hour,? despite being their first face-to-face meeting in nine months จC he didn't see his brother, Prince William, amid their strained relationship.

Some royal watchers thought the brief meeting with King Charles on Tuesday was a snub but one royal expert suggests it was the exact opposite.

It's understood Prince Harry was cut short not because the King wanted to leave for Norfolk but because he was tired after his first out-patient treatment for cancer in London on Monday.

"The briefing that came out from that, from the palace, was very interesting, 'the King was very tired after his procedure that he'd had the day before'," Sunday Times royal editor Roya Nikkhah said on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.

"So we know he started his treatment on Monday, we understand he had a procedure then for his cancer, and the briefing was he felt quite tired.

"I'm sure Harry would have loved to have spent much more time with him, but he's probably quite respectful of his dad going through his treatment."

Nikkhah also told the breakfast TV co-hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley that the short time-frame of that meeting shouldn't be a sign that the pair aren't open to reconciliation after a well-publicised family rift.

One reconciliation that was off the cards during this visit was with his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate, who is also currently recovering from abdominal surgery.

"It's a sibling relationship that still looks incredibly broken," BBC royal correspondent Daniela Relph told BBC Radio 4.

"You have to read that as a sign of the state of their relationship - nothing in the diary we're told for them to meet up while Harry's in the UK.

"It also means Harry won't be visiting his sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, who has been unwell, someone he was once very close to."

While the trip was a lightning visit, there are insiders who claim Prince Harry could spend more time in the UK over the coming months as his father undergoes treatment.

"Harry is making plans to spend more time in England so he can be there physically for his father," the Daily Mirror claims, quoting an "insider".

"Meghan has given him her blessing to do this as she knows family is paramount. It's early days yet and they are working out logistically how they can make it work as Harry's life is now in the States with his wife and kids.?"

After handing back the keys to the vacant Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, it's understood Prince Harry - who travelled solo from Los Angeles on this trip - spent the night at a London hotel rather than any of the royal residences.?

Harry and Meghan are expected to travel to Canada next week? for "One Year to Go" Invictus Games events in Vancouver and Whistler.
