Queen Elizabeth's cousin Prince Michael of Kent and his wife Princess Michael of Kent attend the Thanksgiving Service for King Constantine of the Hellenes on February 27, 2024 in Windsor.
The couple put on brave faces just two days after the sudden death of their son-in-law, Thomas Kingston, who was married to their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor.
Their appearance came hours before Buckingham Palace announced the tragic news of the 45-year-old's death to the public.
Kingston was found dead at an address in Gloucestershire on Sunday, with emergency services reportedly called shortly after 6pm local time (5am Monday AEDT).?
While King Charles, Prince William and Kate couldn't attend the memorial service for the last King of Greece, Queen Camilla lead members of the British royal family at the service.
They were joined by other European royals in attendance, including King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.

The Duchess of York arrived alongside members of the British royal family, walking next to ex-husband Prince Andrew as they made their way to St George's Chapel.
Joining the Duke and Duchess of York on the stroll to the church was Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence (front right).
The trio were followed by Zara and Mike Tindall and the Princess Royal in the row behind them.

This included Prince Pavlos, Crown Prince of Greece, Prince of Denmark RE, and Marie-Chantal, Crown Princess of Greece, Princess of Denmark (both front) and Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark (fifth right).
Crown Princess Marie Chantal of Greece stood out in a deep red as she and Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece led the arrivals for the members of the Hellenes.
Princess Nina of Greece and Denmark, aka Nina Flohr, and Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark were seen arriving together for the service.
Infanta Elena, Duchess of Lugo (left), Infanta Cristina of Spain (centre) and Juan Valentin Urdangarin (right) were also seen arriving at the Windsor church.
King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia came rugged up for the cold weather as they walked to the church.
Stylish Queen Letizia appeared to get the navy blue memo, wearing matching dress and heels in the colour also worn by many others, including Zara Tindall?.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were also among the royals attending the service.
P?rince Andrew wore a deep red tie with his suit, matching the Crown Princess's ensemble and suggesting there could have been a secondary colour scheme.
Prince Philip's good friend Penelope Knatchbull, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, also arrived at the service in a deep blue ensemble.
Crown Prince Alexander of Serbia and Princess Catherine of Serbia were seen arriving at Windsor Castle.
Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark and Carlos Morales also attended the service, suitably rugged up for the 4ĄăC day.

The monarch was forced to miss the church service for his son's godfather while he undergoes treatment for cancer.

Queen Margrethe of Den?mark had travelled to Athens with her son, then Crown Prince Frederik, for the funeral of King Constantine last year but neither were in attendance for the thanksgiving service.
Queen Camilla, 76, arrived with widow Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, 77.
The two queens both donned navy pinstripe ensembles for the service.
The women were welcomed to the service outside the chapel by the Dean of Windsor, The Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth.
Queen Camilla appeared emotional during the service.
