Suits star explains his viral moment from Meghan and Harry's wedding

By Jo Abi|

Suits star Rick Hoffman has explained why he had an "awful" expression on his face during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018.

Hoffman, 53, joined the Chicks In The Office podcast to explain the viral moment.

"As time goes on, I'm starting to smell something really terrible and foul, and I'm very sensitive when it comes to that so I start to try to do this," Hoffman said, adding that he resorted to covering his face because he had "coconut vanilla moisturiser."

This left him in an awkward position. He could either sit there with his hand over his face or sit there with an "awful face" in reaction to the smell.

Neither choice would be ideal.

Hoffman said he asked his Suits co-stars if they too could smell the odour.

"Because I don't want them to think it's me because I'm so particular when it comes to hygiene," he said.

"So I'm like, 'Do you guys smell that?' And they're like, 'No.' So now I'm like literally by myself and I'm just going, 'Mother...,'" Hoffman said. "And that's what they got [on camera]."

Hoffman said Meghan was well aware of how sensitive he was to smell.
