While she had always wanted kids, Swank said, she and husband Philip Schneider had only married in 2018 and it had previously never felt like the right time.
"It's something I thought about as a young girl. It was something on my mind, and so now it's just nice to be here and just be pregnant,' Swank shared."

"My friends tell me when you have double, it doubles the hormones, double the sickness, double the everything," she said of carrying twins.
In a serendipitous twist, Swank also revealed the twins were due on her late father's birthday, April 16.
Swank, who was very close to her late father Stephen, said it gave her comfort to know that he was in some way entwined with their arrival.
"It's beautiful. It's all aligning, and my dad, he was one of my most favourite people in the world, so it is kind of like this tribute of life with them being due on this birthday," she said.
