Danish prince celebrates 18th birthday in portraits with model brother

By Maddison Leach|

Prince Felix of Denmark has celebrated his 18th birthday in style, the Danish Royal family sharing a series of photos of the young royal to Instagram.

Felix, who is the younger son of Prince Joachim and his former wife, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg, is currently eighth in line to the Danish throne.

That makes him nephew to Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, and first cousin to their four children.

But it looks like the young royal has been spending more time with his model brother, Prince Nikolai, 20, as he posed skilfully for his birthday portraits.

Staring into the camera lens for a close up, the prince posed confidently in front of a lake in the second shot shared to Instagram.

He was then joined by his big brother for a final snap, which shows the two together by a park bench, Felix sitting with his legs crossed while Nikolai leans against the table in the background.

Later photos showed the royals posing with the rest of their family at Ch?teau de Cayx in France, where Felix celebrated his birthday.

In the photos, Felix stands with his father Prince Joachim and his mother, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg, the divorced pair coming together for their son's milestone birthday.

Already something of a heartthrob among Denmark's teen population, Felix จC and of course his brother Nikolai จC are expected to grow into two very eligible royal bachelors.

Perhaps they will even follow in their uncle's footsteps and one day marry an Australian, just as Frederik married Tasmanian Mary Donaldson in 2004.

Nikolai is already considered a major royal catch, with his striking good looks and noble ancestry, it's no wonder so many swoon over him.

The royal has been a regular on the catwalk for the past few years.? In 2018, he signed with modelling agency Scoop Models in Denmark and has walked the catwalk for Burberry and Dior.

At the Burberry AW18 fashion show, fashion legends Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell watched Prince Nikolai's debut from the front row.

Perhaps Felix now has plans to follow in his older brother's footsteps and pursue a career in fashion? He certainly has the genes for it.
